PRACTICAL
CV DESIGN
Week of doing CV design. CV is refers to a curriculum vitae, which is a document that summarizes an individual's educational background, work experience, skills, accomplishments, and other relevant qualifications. It is essentially a comprehensive resume that is widely used in academic, scientific, and research fields, as well as in some international contexts. Simply means, it's similar with resume.
We are showing the lecturer about the references, sketches and digital sketches. Lecturer mentioned that CV has to be in formal way and do not need to be fancy, because the HR or the companies will need to reduce their printing costs and straightforward that can let them read and understand the CV.
REFERENCES
SKETCHES
The sketches are doing according the style of the website banner but there are only a fews will be selected to explore for the final design, because of the other designs are look fancy that lecturer mentioned in the class that CV doesn't have to be fancy and it has to be clean, simple and formal.
DIGITAL SKETCHES
The digital sketches style are also using neutral colours especially grey colours as the main colours according to the colour palette for the website banner. The layout are formal, simple and clean, without any fancy design. Also, adding some elements will let the CV looks more interesting.
FINAL CV DESIGN
The final design of CV is using a very simple format of design and make it not too colorful as the lecturer mentioned in the class. For the main colors that used in the CV were all neutral colors that are same with my website banner design and also place the logo at the top right corner to show the identity of myself.
LECTURE
VISUALS
The lecture lesson of the week are more focus on images for designing layout and content. As mentioned for the last week report. Visual or images is important when designing a website which the visual are the key to communicate or connect with the audiences. Lecturer mentioned, when people click into the website, it means that they are talking to you, they want to talk to you. It's a way of connection through visual/ images.
TYPES OF IMAGES TO USE & CHOOSING PHOTOS
Types of images that has to be use in the website that has mentioned in the lecture notes, which are logo, photos, illustrations and charts/ tables and infographics. The logo are representing the branding or the identity of the web designer or a brand, it has to be consistently appear in every pages and same location in the website, animation logo is a very good way to catch the viewers attention and also connect with audiences (engagement). Then, choose the photos that has related to the website or the identity of the brand, that's why the meaningful and high quality images are a must for a website to show the atmosphere of the website, instead to using the low quality photos in the website, it has to be small to cover the mistakes of the photos, but what to suggest is, better don't. The photos has to be follow the rules of photography, which the lightning are not overexposed and too dark.
IMPORTANCE OF COMPOSITION
Composition such as golden ratio or The Rule of Thirds are best to apply in the photography and also while choosing photographs for the website. Which the photographs that using The Rule of Third are good to use on cover page that can call out the Call To Action. Moreover, the size of the photographs is also a point to caution, designers has to ensure the composition or the visuals will not run out of the frame in different devices such as laptop, mobile and ipad, such as the main part in the photographys has to be stay at the center.
INFOGRAPHICS & CHARTS
Using infographics/ icons and charts is one of the way to engage with audiences. The infographics makes some of the long text and complicated messages become simplified through visuals that also has similar effect with icons which has the ability to let the audiences can easily understand the website and its identity as well as the usage.
